Sales and Marketing Representative

About the Role

Taranakipine is looking for a motivated Sales & Marketing Representative to join our team and support the growth of our value-added wood products business.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in sales and marketing. Working alongside the Market Manager, you will develop customer relationships, identify new opportunities, support marketing initiatives, and help strengthen the Taranakipine brand across New Zealand.

The role includes regular travel throughout the North Island, connecting with customers, understanding market needs, and representing Taranakipine within the building and construction sector.

Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Relationships

• Build strong relationships with merchants, builders, architects, designers, and industry partners.
• Visit customers, provide support, and identify new business opportunities.
• Assist with sales growth, account management, forecasting, and market reporting.
• Gather customer feedback and market insights to help improve our products and services.

Marketing & Brand Support

• Support sales and marketing campaigns and customer communications.
• Help maintain digital content, product information, and promotional materials.
• Assist with trade shows, customer events, product launches, and new product development activities.
• Ensure Taranakipine’s brand is consistently represented across all customer touchpoints.

What You’ll Bring

You are a people-focused, organised, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys building relationships and learning about customers and markets.

You will bring:

• Experience in customer service, sales support, retail sales, marketing, or account coordination.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence using technology and learning new systems.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A willingness to travel regularly.

Experience or an interest in construction, manufacturing, or building products would be an advantage.
